Where public perception ends, our work begins
It began with a simple observation at a charity gala in 2018. A well-known television anchor was showing someone a photograph from her wallet. Not a headshot. Not a red carpet moment. A blurry snapshot of her grandmother's hands making bread.
That image had traveled with her through decades of broadcasts, interviews, and award ceremonies. It meant more to her than any magazine cover she had ever graced.
We started asking others: What photograph do you carry? The answers changed how we understood our craft entirely.
The principles that guide every session
Your photographs belong to you alone. We never share, publish, or even discuss our clients without explicit written permission. Many of our most treasured works will never be seen by the public.
We are not interested in the version of you that exists for cameras. We want the laugh that happens when you forget we are there. The look you give when you think of someone you love.
Our sessions are never rushed. We spend the first hour simply talking, learning, understanding. The camera comes out only when the masks come off.
Walk into most photography studios and you will find bright lights, backdrops, and an urgency to capture as many frames as possible. Our space feels more like a living room.
There are books on the shelves. Real ones, not props. Coffee is always brewing. Our chairs are comfortable enough to fall asleep in, and some clients have.
We designed everything to make people forget they are being photographed. Because the best portraits happen when subjects stop performing and start simply being.

Every portrait journey at weasel-zone follows the same careful path, though no two sessions ever look alike.
Consultation: We begin with a conversation. Sometimes by phone, sometimes over coffee at the studio. We want to understand not just what you want photographed, but why it matters to you.
The Session: This is where the real work happens. Our sessions last a minimum of three hours, though many extend longer. We follow your comfort, your energy, your willingness to be seen.
Selection: We present you with a curated selection of images. Never hundreds. Usually fewer than twenty. Each one captured something true.
Delivery: Your photographs are printed on archival quality paper, designed to last generations. Because that is exactly how long they should.
